Production

I used such tools as the
  • The magic rubber
  • Rubber
  • Fill colour
  • paintbrush
  • layers
  • Rectangular marquee tool
  • font tools like
  • size
  • colour
  • font
  • Move images
These tools I knew how to use but there were tool like the magic eraser that I didn't know how to use before and helped me a lot in the making of the magazine. I used the magic rubber tool because It enabled me to remove the whole background in one click, but the problem with this is that sometimes it has problems with decided what is the background and what is the foreground, This happened when I deleted the background of my main picture, some of the colours of the shirt were cut out so I used the Eye drop tool to sample the colour of the colour of the T-shirt and use the paintbrush tool to colour in the missing parts, I did this zoomed in so if you were viewing the magazine at a normal size you couldn't see the blending of the colors.
I had 9 layers on my front covers and 16 on my contents page, I created them by going on file open and selected the image I wanted to put in the magazine from the folder my pictures.
Used boxes of colour to give the pages a more attractive layout, I selected the square tool, drew a box and filled it in with the fill tool.

First of all we had to design a Front cover and a contents page, they both had to have mast heads and the cover had to have a close up of a mid shot, it had to cover 2 thirds of the page because that's the most interesting part of the magazine. I decided to name my magazine essay because it had more of a link to school life than my previous idea for the title(okul). I felt that my Target market would be 14-19 year old's in the school who take music or are interested in joining some type of musical activity in the school.
I decided to make my magazine around depression and how to revise for your exams, and if you get bad results it has a article on how to cope with them.
The main article is about what the school can do for you musically.
I am going to have my colour scheme as silver ,red and brown. I chose this colour scheme because it will appeal to my target audience and its also easy to use.
For my titles I will use the website http://cooltext.com/ this will give a more professional view.
The masthead will be bold and silver, this will stand out and immediately tell the reader what the magazine is called and what it is about.
In my mock ups  the front cover has a mid shot of a guitar, I later decided to change this to a picture of a person in stead because it will appeal to a larger target audience. The masthead covers the top part of the picture and there are cover lines going across the page about the main part of the articles.
On my contents page I had set it out so there would be a picture to every strap line.

Evaluation
I thought that my magazine went really well eventually, the style and layout of it came out as I had intended, though I would have wanted the mid shot main picture to be stretched more so it covered more of the page, but I couldn't do that with this image because it would have become pixilated. Maybe it could have had more strap lines so the cover doesn't look so sparse. In a "real" magazine there would be a lot more going on like offers and exclusive strap lines to show interviews with celebs.
The colors scheme of brown, silver and red went really well, I felt that the colors were easy to look at and not to bright. I picked these colors because they were calming and would appeal to say a musical student who would want a quiet sit down and a magazine to read.
The only problem I could see with my contents page was that I neglected to have page numbers on the article strap lines, so there wouldn't be much point on having a contents page if you didn't know what pages they were on.
The photoshopping of the pictures went more smoothly as i had used photoshop before and I knew what tools I should use to get the best results.  I didn't have any other problems other than running out of disc space when I had to save the files as J- pegs so I could upload them onto my blog.
I thought that I could have edited the magazine quicker if I would have used the magic eraser tool I could have saved a lot of time.
The reason I was able to gain all the photo's in such a quick time is because we went out in a group and took the pictures all in one sitting.
We had a good selection of pictures because Rupert took them on his high quality camera.
