Genre of music my magazine will be about.

The genre of music that I have chosen for my magazine is grunge/ rock.

Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is a sub genre of alternative rock that emerged during the mid-1980s in the American state of Washington, particularly in the Seattle area. Inspired by hardcore punkheavy metal, and indie rock, grunge is generally characterized by heavily distorted electric guitars, contrasting song dynamics, and apathetic or angst-filled lyrics. The grunge aesthetic is stripped-down compared to other forms of rock music, and many grunge musicians were noted for their unkempt appearances and rejection of theatrics. Grunge music really tried to get away from the mainstream corporate take on music and make a new sound that gave a very who cares attitude out to the media.

  1. Could you put the list of Seatle based Grunge bands in another colour as black doesn't tend to show up too well on a black background. Always remember to do that when cut and pasting from wikipedia. You may have noticed from wikipedia that Grunge sort of went the way of the dodo after the 90's so rock will probably be the most plausible genre for a magazine otherwise you might be too niche.

I assume you like the Pixies as they too shun the requirements of mainstream requirements for a rock band as beautifully illustrated in this video

which was a full 2 years before Nirvana decided against lip syncing on top of the pops and instead opted to do this

You could so something similar for your dps if you're going for the whole anti establishment thing
